It’s titled here as a question, however Bishop T. D. Jakes, the pastor and founder of The Potter’s House located in Dallas, Texas declared this as a matter of fact. This message was actually delivered on Father’s Day and two and a half minutes of this message was highlighted on YouTube. It has been viewed over six hundred thousand times and has caused quite a stir. We dig into this with our thoughts and opinions. As usual, we agree and disagree with each other over the conversations that this has started and the chaos that has been stirred. Does the statement have validity? If so, who’s to blame? How do we correct this going forward? Why now? Some of the questions of course, we are unable to answer and can only speculate, but we do our best to arrive to some conclusions, at least!

The Overturning of Roe vs. Wade

For 50 years woman have been able to go to sleep with the comfort of knowing they have a choice when it comes their reproductive rights. Now that constitutional right has been removed. While we have some communities celebrating and considering this decision a victory, we have others who consider this a major blow and setback for women everywhere. Is this a moral issue? Is this political? Is this a power play or simply a means to display power and control? Is this the beginning of a thing or the end? In the wake of Roe vs. Wade these are all valid questions, but I fear only time will provide those highly anticipated answers. The place: Uvalde, Texas. 21 Victims. 19 of them were children. There were 19 cops on the scene who DID NOT stop the assailant as soon as they could have. There are no words to describe the ongoing epidemic that unfortunately appears exclusive to these United States! “Why and what the is going on” are the understandable and usual questions that permeate our minds, but now we just need it to stop.
